Mobotix Webcam mounted on Signal Point building, Goolwa.
The historic river port town of Goolwa (Approx 80kms from Adelaide) is where Australia's mighty Murray River meets the sea.
Looking out toward the Hindmarsh Island Bridge and Goolwa Wharf where the restored Paddle Steamer PS "Oscar W" is often moored.
In the foreground, the tourist trains running on Australia's first railway line(diesel & steam engines) can be seen operating most weekends and school holidays.
Goolwa is also Australia's first accredited Cittaslow town, renowned for its regional foods, fine wines and hospitality.
"Goolwa" means "elbow" in Ngarrindjeri, the local Aboriginal language.
The Wharf precinct is also home of the internationally acclaimed biennial Wooden Boat Festival. It also plays host to the Goolwa Markets (Farmers/artisan/collectors style market) held every second week. A myriad of local shops cafes and accommodation are within easy walking distance.
